Frequently asked questions

Practical questions, clearly answered.

Ordering and customisation

Are all CHROMA & CHORA pieces customised? +

No. Standard collection pieces are purchased directly through our online Shopify store.

Selected pieces may offer additional customisation, while bespoke furniture and Interior Furnishing projects begin with an enquiry.

How do I place a standard order? +

Choose the required product options, add the piece to your cart and complete payment through Shopify checkout.

Please review the dimensions, colour, quantity, delivery address and access conditions before completing your order.

How do I order a customised piece? +

Submit an enquiry with the product name, required dimensions, preferred colour, photographs of the intended space and delivery postcode.

If the request is feasible, we will provide a written specification, quotation and estimated production timeframe.

Full payment is required after the final specification has been approved and before materials are ordered or production begins.

Can any piece be made in any size? +

No. Each design has structural, material and proportional limits.

We assess whether a requested dimension can be produced safely, whether it remains suitable for the intended use and whether the change preserves the integrity of the design.

Can I request a colour that is not shown online? +

Selected pieces may be available in additional colours. Availability depends on the material, production method and quantity.

Send us the product name and colour reference so that we can assess the request.

Screen colours are not a reliable substitute for a physical material or colour reference.

Do you accept completely bespoke furniture commissions? +

Yes, subject to design and production availability.

A useful brief should explain the room, function, required dimensions, preferred materials, budget and intended timeline.

We do not copy or reproduce the protected work of other designers or brands.

Interior Furnishing

What is Interior Furnishing? +

Interior Furnishing is our furniture and non-structural soft-decoration planning service for individual rooms, complete residences and selected commercial spaces.

It may include furniture layouts, colour and material direction, product selection, custom furniture, rendered room views, a furniture schedule, procurement and delivery coordination.

Do you provide effect images or room renderings? +

They may be included in an Interior Furnishing proposal.

The visualisations communicate furniture placement, approximate scale, colour relationships and the intended atmosphere. They are not architectural construction drawings, and physical materials may vary from screen-based representations.

Are design and furniture costs charged together? +

No. The design fee and procurement costs are separate.

The design fee covers the agreed professional design services. Furniture, custom production, third-party products, freight, delivery and installation are quoted separately after the design proposal has been developed.

What do I need to provide for an Interior Furnishing enquiry? +

Please provide a dimensioned floor plan, photographs or video, the rooms involved, existing furniture to be retained, functional requirements, project location, budget range and intended timeline.

Showroom and samples

Can I visit the showroom? +

Yes. Our private Sydney showroom is available by confirmed appointment only.

Not every product or variation shown online is permanently displayed, so please tell us what you would like to view before booking.

Can I view samples? +

Selected material and colour samples may be available during a showroom appointment.

Samples indicate the general character of a material. Natural variation, lighting and hand-finishing mean they cannot guarantee an exact match with a completed piece.

Will my piece look exactly like the website photographs? +

Not necessarily.

Natural materials and hand-applied finishes can vary in colour, grain, texture, pattern and sheen. Photography, lighting and screen settings can also affect appearance.

The product should nevertheless correspond with its confirmed description and specification.

Delivery and access

How long will delivery take? +

For standard products, available fulfilment information will appear on the product page, checkout or order communication.

Custom production times depend on the final design, materials, production complexity and destination. An estimated timeframe is provided with the quotation.

Is delivery included in the price? +

Delivery charges are shown at checkout where available.

Oversized furniture, customised pieces, restricted-access locations and some destinations require a separate delivery quotation.

Do you deliver outside Sydney? +

Delivery outside Sydney may be available depending on the product, destination and suitable carrier availability.

Provide the product name, quantity and postcode so that the available options can be assessed.

Can you deliver to an apartment? +

Usually, provided that the property can be accessed safely.

Before delivery, disclose all lifts, stairs, loading restrictions, parking conditions, doorway widths, building hours and property-management requirements.

Who is responsible for checking access? +

The customer is responsible for providing accurate measurements and access information.

Measure the piece, packaging and complete delivery path, including entrances, corridors, lifts, stairs, landings and turning spaces.

Does delivery include assembly or placement? +

Only where stated on the product page, during checkout or in a written quotation.

Wall fixing, electrical work, structural work, packaging removal and specialist installation are not included unless expressly confirmed.

Changes and returns

Can I change an online order? +

Contact us immediately.

We cannot guarantee a change once an order has entered processing or dispatch. Any change remains subject to availability and may affect delivery charges.

Can I change a customised order? +

A change may be possible before materials are ordered or production begins.

Once production has commenced, changes may be impossible or may require additional payment and a revised completion estimate. All variations must be approved in writing.

Can I return a product because I changed my mind? +

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, CHROMA & CHORA does not accept change-of-mind returns or exchanges.

This does not affect any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law where a product is faulty, unsafe, materially different from its description or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee.

Can a customised piece be returned? +

Customised and bespoke pieces are produced to an approved specification and generally cannot be cancelled or returned because of a change of mind once the specification has been approved, payment received, materials ordered or production commenced.

Australian Consumer Law rights continue to apply where relevant.

What if my order arrives damaged, incomplete or incorrect? +

Contact us as soon as possible with the order number, photographs of the product, packaging and labels, and a clear description of the issue.

Keep the product and all packaging until we provide further instructions.

Care

How should I care for my piece? +

Follow any product-specific instructions and refer to our Care Guide.

As a general rule, avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, standing water, extreme heat, sharp objects and prolonged direct sunlight.
